What is the Main Aim?

Utpadan linked Protsahan Yojana is a very much output oriented and manufacturing related scheme which has the means to produce more and provide incentive to the producer if they are promoting domestic manufacturing.

This scheme also focuses on expanding the total amount of goods exported in India which will bring foreign exchange and economy of India would lead to increment of domestic goods exported.

The overall total budget of PLI is around 2 lakh crores. This amount will be given to those producers who are manufacturing goods in regional and outmost rural areas of India.

Why it was launched?

The Union Cabinet launched the theUtpadan linked Protsahan Yojana on November 11, 2020. The area of industrial institutes in the nation has been increased thanks to this plan. The nation will become self-sufficient as the industrial sector develops. To increase manufacturing capabilities and exports, the Production Linked Incentives-PLI plan has been approved for ten major sectors, including pharmaceutical pharmaceuticals, auto components, and autos. 

These programmes will cost approximately Rs 2 lakh crore over the following five years. An incentive programme based on production will encourage indigenous manufacturing, lowering reliance on imports and generating new job opportunities.
